Our School Garden Project

Miss Davis’ 2012 1st grade class designs a school garden! They plant flowers and vegetables that grow all summer long with the help of teachers and community members, and are then harvested by students during the fall months.

Monarchs

Read along as an insect grows from egg to caterpillar to monarch butterfly. Then travel alongside as the butterfly flies south to Mexico for the winter. This book offers a detailed description on the monarch butterfly, as well as, beautiful images of the butterflies and the regions in which they live.

Miss Maple’s Seeds

Miss Maple loves nurturing the lost seeds of the world. Travel through the seasons with her and her woodland friends as they help the seeds stay strong before it’s their time to be planted. And remember, big tall trees started out as tiny little seeds.

Magic School Bus Plants Seeds

The Magic School Bus shrinks to the size of a ladybug to experience a garden through the eyes of an insect. The students learn about how seeds turn into plants, and about how bees pollinate plants to help them spread to new areas and grow.

Magic School Bus Gets Eaten

The Magic School Bus takes a trip to the beach, and of course shrinks in size, to learn about a food chain that takes place in the ocean. The students learn to make connections between their lives and those found in the ocean.
