Pumpkin Exploration – Preschool

Through a creative exploration of pumpkins, students gain a new understanding of this vegetable and all of its diverse uses. Students use a pumpkin seed activity to practice counting.

Need to Prepare

Pumpkin Exploration Supplies

• 5 small to medium pumpkins per 20 students
• Bowls for seeds
• Knife to cut pumpkin (for adult use only)
• Newspaper

Tasting Supplies

Several different foods made with pumpkins. (We recommend roasted pumpkin seeds and/or low-sugar pumpkin pie or muffins.) Small paper plates
