Vegetable Crowns – Preschool

Children gain knowledge and interest in new fruits and vegetables through making vegetable crowns. Students learn to identify new fruits and vegetables. Students associate vegetables and fruits with a positive experience making a fun art project.

Need to Prepare

Supplies

  • Pictures of fruits and vegetables (cut from seed catalogs) • Whole examples of several fresh fruits and vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, beets, etc.)
  • Cut outs of fruits and vegetables
  • Long strips of white paper
  • Glue
  • Stapler
  • Markers or crayons

Tasting Supplies

  • Examples of several fresh fruits and vegetables in their whole form(tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, beets, etc.) and tastes of those same vegetable cut into slices or chunks
  • Paper Plates
  • Ranch (optional)
