ASAP’s Local Food in Rural WNC Forum
November 1, 2013
9 am-4:30 pm
University of North Carolina Asheville’s Sherrill Center
Registration is now closed.
ASAP knows that many rural communities in WNC are trying to rebuild local food systems – whether the goal is providing access to fresh healthy food or developing market opportunities for farmers.
While each community is faced with their own unique barriers and opportunities, there are common threads that run throughout our rural areas.
On Friday, November 1st, ASAP will convene a forum to examine these common threads. Participants will make connections, identify collective resources, and create a shared understanding of food systems in rural communities. To view the agenda for the day please view the PDF linked below.
Special invitations will be extended to key stakeholders from agriculture and economic development (farmers, Extension, tourism, planners), public health (schools, health departments, institutions), and policy / decision makers (elected officials, CEOs).
